Double-hung windows are the most popular style manufactured by SoftLite ‒ and, in fact, are the most-used window throughout the country. A double-hung is the classic residential window, composed of a set of vertical sashes that both slide up and down. What is immediately apparent about a SoftLite double-hung window is its stylish beauty. What might not be so easy to see – until you get your next power bill – is how energy-efficient SoftLite double-hung windows are. In fact, SoftLite’s double-hung designs are the most energy-efficient in the industry, as well as the highest-performing.

Bow windows are bay windows that are mounted on rounded frames. Like bay windows, bows extended outward to create additional space within a room. They are intended to provide a wider view of the outside, such as a garden or a panoramic back yard. While bays typically utilize three panels, bows usually require at least four to create the curved effect (although some bow designs use five or six panels, or “lites”).

We are loving our windows so far! Our 40-year-old house had all original windows, which were single-paned and in rather poor shape (some wouldn't open, the ones that would open wouldn't stay open, no screens, etc). The door slides effortlessly, the screen door pull is designed to protect the screen by keeping your fingers away from it, the extra lock is easy to operate with your foot, and the structure of the door is quite airtight.
