ENERGY STAR Programs

The United States Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency created the ENERGY STAR program to help individuals identify which businesses are committed to protecting the environment through energy efficiency. The overall goal is to provide cost-saving energy solutions that protect the environment and public health while improving air quality. Only windows and doors that meet specific standards through independent testing by the NFRC* are labeled as ENERGY STAR.

The ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year and Sustained Excellence Award

SoftLite’s commitment to the ENERGY STAR program has resulted in manufacturing some of the most energy-efficient windows in the industry. All of our lines carry certified[ML1] ENERGY STAR certified products with several carrying the distinction of being Most Efficient by the EPA. All SoftLite windows are rigorously tested and must meet minimum performance criteria, making these awards a high honor that exemplifies our company’s dedication to manufacturing windows that will save you on your home’s energy costs.

What Makes SoftLite Windows ENERGY STAR certified?

SoftLite windows are precision-engineered with weather barriers that minimize air infiltration, premium vinyl frames that block heat and withstand the elements and Low-E glass coatings that help block UV rays. Furthermore, polyurethane foam-filled frames and sashes along with compression seals and straddle gaskets help provide additional insulation. And our high-end triple weatherstripping creates a perfect fit for a tighter seal that blocks air. Plus, our double- and triple-pane windows are equipped with non-toxic argon or krypton gas between the panes for additional insulation.

How Does ENERGY STAR Affect You?

The Department of Energy estimates that heat gain and heat loss through windows are responsible for 25 to 30 percent of residential heating and cooling energy use. Switching out old windows with ENERGY STAR certified replacement windows helps lower that percentage and energy bills overall. According to the 2021 Cost versus Value Report by Remodeling Magazine, SoftLite windows can provide an average Return on Investment of 68.6%. Additionally, the renewable tax credit is for homeowners who upgrade their homes to use renewable energy, meaning if you purchase SoftLite windows, you will likely be eligible for a tax credit to offset some of the costs of your window purchase.
